Vaudeville Tragedy

I'm an Aussie girl, with a degree in Psychology and an interest in beautiful things.

This is really just a place for me to post and write about all the things that I love. But you know, every now and then I'll probably mix in some rants...

How I’d react if there was really a God… How would you react?

“You’re a dick” then kick him in the shins

“I honestly don’t understand why some people want a fat princess. Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t got anything against fat people but what about the fat muse from Hercules? She’s a Goddess, for heaven’s sake! Goddess trumps princess in my book anyday.”

Oh does she have her own leading role? What’s that? No, she’s not even the head of the Muses? Oh, ok you’re an idiot.

My good deed for the day.

I fucking hate anti-vaxers.

Fantastic reply.

This shit just infuriates me beyond belief! And it’s almost always linked to extreme ignorance. Just this week the Australian TV show Catalyst (available online for Aussies at least, not sure about anyone else) ran a program on clusters of disease created by people with “alternative lifestyles” (i.e. dirty hippies). The thing is their not just hurting themselves, their creating chinks in the herd protection barrier that can cause the deaths of many more.

hey Laci, there’s a reason why we’re homies, yo. This is one of the million reasons. Thanks for keeping it real baby <3

Like we don’t enjoy the benefits of this country. Yes it’s terrible what happened to the Native Americans and Africans but this poster portrays a negative connotation of our country. If you don’t like it well guess what? You’re no forced to be here.

People act like this is a United States thing, but that’s basically how every successful civilization in human history became successful…

These comments SCREAM white privilege…

Speaking for myself: I’m not defending it. Just pointing out the reality.

So because other cultures have done it, that makes it less horrific? No.
We are at a point in human history where we are finally identifying colonization as a hugely destructive force. Now is our chance to save ourselves before we destroy everything. Bluntly put, DON’T FUCK THIS UP FOR THOSE OF US WHO WANT TO SURVIVE AND CREATE A HUMANE, LOVING WORLD CULTURE!
Let’s not point the finger elsewhere, instead of fully owning the evils of our past and present. If we turn away from horrible injustices, injustices that continue today, WE ARE DOOMED TO FORGET AND REPEAT!
The “If you don’t like it, move somewhere else” argument is based on ignorance. I am currently trying to decide how to move out of this country, however, it is fact that moving and the cost of living, especially where the American dollar has depreciated greatly since this country has pushed forward with it’s goal to kill, rape and pillage for oil and resources, are out of reach for many Americans. Why? It costs over $100 to purchase a passport alone! Imagine other costs! If you have that kind of money to spend, you are considered among THE TOP 8% IN THIS WORLD, and so, YOU PROBABLY AREN’T PAINFULLY EFFECTED BY INJUSTICES IN THE FIRST PLACE!
I consider it my duty as a human being to point out destructive ignorance where I see it.

Stopped reading after the first line because nobody even said that.

Yeah Memewhore said nothing about whether colonization is right or wrong, I think most people can agree that it’s not good. But it’s completely ingenuous to pretend that it only happened in America. If we really want a society which treats everyone with equality and provides everyone with the support they need to achieve to their best ability then we need to move the fuck on and look to the future rather than the past.
